TECHNOLOGY

We build modern log houses and timber houses in Canadian and Norwegian styles.

Our company exclusively uses high-quality pine (softwood) from the ecologically clean mountainous regions of the Carpathians, personally selected by our experts, and compliant with all European standards. While some believe that this type of wood is softer and less sturdy compared to redwood, our ancestors built houses from pine, and some of those structures still stand today, more than 100 years old. The durability, low sound and heat conductivity, the freshness, color, structure, and original scent make it an essential material for creating an eco-friendly and warm home.

During the construction of log houses, all work is done by handcrafted carpenters. This ensures precise fitting joints and other structural elements. This not only guarantees the quality of the structure but also its strength, ensuring the longevity of the building. Our engineers select the most suitable design from our ready log house plans for you, or they can create a new, original plan that meets your needs. In the shortest time possible, we build an exclusive, cozy, eco-friendly, and reliable log house or other covered wooden structures (restaurant, hotel, cottage, sauna, or garden pavilion) for you. During the design process, we calculate and plan the layout, taking into account the unique characteristics of the structure.

Upon agreement, we can provide our clients with a turnkey log house construction, offering various additional services, including foundation laying, roof covering, plumbing, electrical installation, heating system installation, etc. After completing the log house construction, we assist in organizing the interior space.

There are several methods for building log houses, involving stacking walls made of wood, connecting corners, and preparing materials using similar specialized tools. The best methods are the 'Norwegian' and 'Canadian' cuts.

Norwegian Log House or Timber House:

More common in Europe is the 'Norwegian cut,' where unique longitudinal cuts are applied to round logs, resulting in perfect straight walls with a diameter of approximately 300-350 mm. The distinctive feature of this method is the cut with a special 'dovetail' trapezoidal shape, which, after drying, eliminates gaps where two non-parallel logs join. However, one disadvantage of this method is that significant cracks can occur due to shrinkage. These cracks are more significant than in houses made entirely of round logs because the wood structure is damaged.

Canadian Log House:

'Canadian log house' - although it has only recently appeared in Europe, it is becoming increasingly popular. This is because it combines the advantages of 'Russian' and 'Norwegian' cutting methods. Logs are stacked on top of each other from complete round logs similar to the 'Russian' cut, but the corners have a special 'trapezoid' shape, which, like the Norwegian method, compresses the gaps between the logs in case of shrinkage. Our company builds log houses, cottages, villas, baths, and other covered wooden structures exclusively using the Canadian cut, with highly trained craftsmen and the machinery of leading European manufacturers.

Log House Construction:

The process of creating a medium-sized log house takes 3-5 months, starting with processing the material at the factory to achieve the best quality wood processing, which would not be possible in field conditions. The first step, after approving the house plans, is to select the logs from Carpathian-Luc pine trees, personally chosen by our experts on-site. To create a straight, durable, and modern log house suitable for any architectural style, long beams of 6-12 meters are required, with a diameter between 30 and 50 cm.

Bark Removal:

After delivering the timber to the factory, the material is manually processed with special knives to remove the bark from the wood. This method avoids damaging the surface layer of the wood. Thanks to this, proper air filtration, the creation of a unique microclimate inside the building – cool in summer, warm in winter – is achieved, making the log house more durable and protecting it from the external environment.

Notching of Recesses:

After processing the wood, the logs are cut to size with high-precision tools, measuring joints and notches. The accuracy of these cuts determines the fitting of the logs in the constructed house. After measurements and drawings, the next step is cutting the recesses, grooves, and connections, followed by polishing the cuts, which closes the pores of the wood, protecting it from fungi and pests.

Assembly of Log House Walls:

The initial assembly of the log house requires the precision of highly trained specialists who calculate the height and width of the walls, allowing the harmonious placement of logs with different diameters while minimizing the gaps between them. During assembly, the walls and each beam are numbered, checked again, and then the structure is disassembled and prepared for transportation.

Installation of Log House:

The final step is the ultimate assembly of the log house on-site, in the presence of the client. In the initial stage, the finished foundation is laid with waterproofing, and the first row of logs is fixed, using oak for this purpose. All minimal gaps between logs are sealed with a natural sealant – linen – thanks to the precise cut of the 'Canadian log house,' making the gaps completely invisible. Reinforcing elements are installed in door and window openings. Channels for wires are cut into the finished walls during the design phase.

To protect the log house from pests, fungi, and environmental influences, the surfaces are treated with preservatives. For this purpose, our company uses the 'BOCHEMIT' wood preservative, whose effectiveness has been tested in practice and has been in use since 1992 in several European countries. The entire construction process treats the houses three times with this substance: first after peeling, second during the initial assembly, and third after the final assembly.

We offer a two-year warranty on our log houses and continue to monitor them for two years. In the future, we are always ready to help, provide advice, and guidance for maintenance work to ensure the house remains beautiful and durable for decades."
